PPE Prize for Citizenship winners announced

2024 PPE Prize for Citizenship

David Jordan and Amelia McCloy have been awarded the inaugural PPE Prizes for Citizenship.

The Prize annually honors up to two graduating students in the PPE major who have exemplified the spirit of PPE in their scholarship and through service to the campus community and beyond. In addition to the recognition, each honoree receives an award of $250.

 

David Jordan

David held senior leadership positions in the Ohio State Thomistic Institute and Buckeye Catholic, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the intercollegiate publication Midwestern Citizen. He was a Law and Society Scholar and the 2020-2024 John and Annie Glenn Undergraduate Scholar. He is graduating summa cum laude with a double major in Public Affairs, and will be attending Notre Dame Law School with a focus on the intersection of law and religion.

 

 

Amelia McCloy

Amelia has volunteered with non-profits such as the Ohio Women’s Alliance and Ohio Families Unite for Political Action and Change, and spent the spring of 2024 serving as a legislative intern in the United States Senate. She was also a University Exploration Peer Mentor and provided research assistance for the Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountability (IDEA). She is graduating magna cum laude with minors in Women, Gender and Public Policy and Legal Foundations of Society, and plans to pursue a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on exploring alternatives to incarceration.
