Core PPE faculty members – Sahar Heydari Fard, Eric MacGilvray, Emma Saunders-Hastings, and Piers Norris Turner – all gave presentations at the annual PPE Society conference from Nov 4-6, 2022. It is the leading international conference in the field.

Professors MacGilvray and Saunders-Hastings each were put under the spotlight in “Author Meets Critics” panels about their new books:

Professor Heydari Fard was a featured speaker on two panels: “Feminist Philosophy in PPE” and “Social Structure in Social Science.”

Professor Turner spoke about the relationship between liberalism and socialism in a panel on the normative political economy of John Stuart Mill.

PPE is one of Ohio State’s newest undergraduate programs, but already has nearly 200 majors. A collaboration of the Departments of Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics – and with support from the Center for Ethics and Human Values – PPE introduces students to a wide range of perspectives and provides them skills to successfully navigate public life in law, business, non-profits, public policy, and other fields.
